Battery charging percentage not going beyond certain percent

0

I have problem with the charging icon of my laptop. Sometimes it works fine and goes full to 100%. But many times it suddenly goes to low value like 50% and doesn't go beyond no matter how much time charged. I does reduce though on use. I tried updating BIOS as was recommended on internet as well as battery drivers but it is not helping. I don't think it is hardware problem as my laptop is just an year old and the gui suddenly shows 100% sometimes when put to charging. So, what should I do? My laptop specifications are:
HP Pavilion
8gb ram, Nvidia GeForce 940mx gpu, intel i5 7th gen cpu.
