How can I print on Linux with a Brother DCP-T300 printer? openprinting.org classifies it as a paperweight.
I found this, but I don't think it will be useful (I have tried the same on another machine and failed)

First check to see if CUPS already includes it. If not, check AUR to see if there's a converted driver there. If not, you can try conversion tools on an RPM or DEB package. See bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=35288. I don't have a way to test the options or provide more details, so I'll leave this as a comment rather than an answer. But if this leads you to a solution, please consider posting your own answer to help future readers with the same issue.

Have you actually tried those Brother drivers you link to? The fact that it failed on another machine is irrelevant, Try them and tell us what happens.

@hdhondt, the OP is using Arch, which doesn't natively use either rpm or deb. The drivers are only offered in those flavors. There are some conversion utilities available, but the results aren't guaranteed. I assume the failure the OP refers to is that the offered drivers simply weren't directly usable with Arch.
