clarification on Galerkin method - in finite element method solution
I am unable to understand the marked step in the solution to the problem on finite element method (Galerkin Method). I shall be grateful for clarification. Mentioned Equations 24 and 32 have been written in pencil. Equation 3 is same as that has been enumerated in the attached solution
