Is it a bad idea to ask my employer to shift to a remote part-time from an on-site part-time job?

0

Current situation

Several strong reasons (I can't dive into this publicly, but my productivity suffered lately a lot) that make me want it to be a remote developer part-time job (3-4 days 9-10 h / day), however, due to:

  • Cultural differences (remote jobs are not the norm here),

  • Me never had a remote job but I strongly believe I can handle this right now, after 6 months with this startup,

  • Since I have been assigned new stuff that might or might not work and nobody including me can give a precise deadline, I think it will be difficult to judge the amount of work I did and whether I deserve this salary or not by the end,

  • We had a bad experience working remotely, there were no tasks to do remotely and I had to wait since I needed access to one of the company's computers and I was far away (now I am not)

I am not sure about the reaction I will get especially that my productivity suffered in the past 2 weeks.

Question

is it a bad idea to ask an employer for a switch to remote part-time given the above reasons?
