100% cpu usage spread equally across multiple apps
My laptop has started randomly going into this state where CPU usage is 100% but when I look in Task Manager I see multiple (seemingly unrelated) apps consuming an identical amount of CPU.

I know that System Idle Process says 48% but the CPU bar in Processes says 100% (go figure). Anyway, it still doesn't explain what is triggering this behavior. It goes on for 2 minutes and then CPU goes back to idle. Any ideas what could be causing this? The only thing that comes to mind is an anti-virus (my workplace uses a product called "Managed Antivirus")
