How to enter Username of IMAP Account in Outlook 2016

0

I want to add a new email account to Outlook 2016. I cannot find any input field where I can add a username. Obviously Outlook takes the email address as username - but this is not accepted by my hosting provider.

This is the dialogue for adding an IMAP account:

As you see, there is no field to add a username. The next page asks for password - but there's also no username input possible.

  • Ok. What happens if you click “not you?” At the top? Also, you can proceed to complete the installation of the account and then edit the settings afterwards.

  • Unfortunately, the wizard does not allow to complete the setup before the account has been checked successfully. "Not you" brings me back to the beginning of the setup.

I have just found it out...
To run the setup without the Outlook wizard, goto:

File > Information > Account Settings > Manage Profiles

This window will open:

Click "Email Accounts" and setup your account manually:
