Decrypt External Toshiba Hard Drive with McAfee Endpoint Encryption for Removable Media

0

I have a client who gave me an older 1TB Toshiba external drive. It came with McAfee Endpoint Encryption for Removable Media pre-installed, and has worked for some time. However, it has recently stopped showing any data on the drive aside from the EERM .exe, ini, and .dat files, and a folder that clicks through to an empty favorites folder.

McAfee has been unhelpful, talking about requiring a grant number, which we do not have, and forwarded me to Toshiba, saying Toshiba would be able to provide me the number. Toshiba was not able to do so...

I am stuck with a drive I know the answer to, but cannot get access to the tech support, let alone the hotfix for this program.

Does anyone have any guidance as to how I can go about recovering the data on this drive?
