ESXI VM not booting
I'm splitting my esxi host which hosted freenas and some other os'es, into 2 servers. 1 for ESXI and 1 for freenas.
Now, all the vms are stored on freenas, I've made a nfs share, mounted it in esxi, but when I register the vms, they aren't able to boot.
error:
Failed - Transport (VMDB) error -45: Failed to connect to peer process.
anyone got any ideas?
I tried to use the client software, but it's not supported anymore in esxi 6.5.
I also tried booting it through ssh, didn't help.
update: I tried to make a new vm, and ad the vmdk as harddrive. When navigating to the vmdk, the vm folder on the datastore is totally empty. When just browsing the datastore, I do see all the files. If I try the same with a local datastore, it does work.
