PC works with TV but not with monitor
I've built a PC and got it to display screen while hooked up to my TV, however it won't work with the monitor. I used HDMI for both connections, tried different cables. The monitor is fine because if connected to a laptop displays normally. What can I do?

The same HDMI port with the same HDMI cable works with a tv, but not a monitor? Even in the same session, without restarting / logging in&out / rebooting? What's the resolution set to, and does the monitor support it?

The resolution while the pc is connected to the TV is low, probably about 1280x768, I didn't try connecting within the same session, however the laptop's resolution is set to HD and still works with the monitor.

I'd try them one after another with a low resolution, and verify what resolutions the monitor definitely supports.

I tried swapping the cable from the TV to the monitor during one session and monitor displayed the information than there is no boot device, but after restarting the pc, the monitor won't work and it's the same with the TV. After swapping the cable from monitor to TV, the TV doesn't work. What's going on?

I don't know and nobody else really knows what's happening without other information. But it has nothing to do with cables or resolutions. The PC is the problem now.
