Vertical lines appear on the black color
With a HDMI connection (a BenQ XL2411T monitor connected to a Xbox One S console) faint vertical lines appear on the black color:
The image is only for demonstration purposes as the colors are completely off, I had to take a picture of the screen using a camera because the artifacts don't appear in screenshots. "Pure black" (RGB 0) causes the most noticeable artifacting and I haven't noticed issues with the other colors.
This is unlikely to be caused by monitor hardware failure as I also use this screen with my computer (DVI connection) and blacks are displayed absolutely correctly.
What can cause these type of artifacts and how to resolve the issue?

Why are you connecting the monitor using HDMI and not the same DVI cable as you used when connecting to the computer?

Most likely cause is scaling and filtering done by the monitor. You can fiddle with the monitor parameters (e.g. "overscan" also affects scaling, "enhance text" affects filtering, etc.), and see if you can improve it.

@harrymc: I use the monitor also with a gaming console, only HDMI port.

The specs of the Xbox One S console seem to include a DVI port.

@harrymc: Sorry about that! Unfortunately DVI doesn't transfer audio, I would need a DVI-to-HDMI cable and I don't know if that's comparable to a DVI connection. I would rather find out what causes this issue, but I do anything what's necessary to resolve it.
