iTerm2 colours don't apply correctly

I'm using iTerm2 (latest version) with oh-my-zsh, and I've got both a zsh theme set as well as an iTerm colour scheme.

The problem is, if I just open iTerm, it loads the ZSH theme, but not the iTerm colours. If I then open a new window or tab, the colours get applied.

Does anyone have any idea what might be causing this?
