MS Word 2019 crashes while recording macros

I installed MS Word 2019 and I tried to record a macro, but program crashed and closed down.

I repaired installation, and I enabled macros in "options" and trust center but problem persists.

Anybody has suggestion how I can record macros without making Word 2019 crash?

  • Hi... word doesn't let me record any macros. When I press "create" to proceed to record the macro, Word closes immediately without any warning, and I end up at the desktop. I can't provide any screenshot because Word doesn't give me any message.... it just closes any docs that are open and sends me directly to the desktop. Any ideas?

  • Are you editing a .docm document? A .docx document cannot contain macros.

  • wait a minute... How do I know if I'm using docm ?? As far as I know, all documents in word are .docx, or .doc (from older versions)
