Black screen after upgrading from Ubuntu 16.04 to Ubuntu 18.04

0

I have recently upgraded my Dell laptop from Ubuntu 16.04 to Ubuntu 18.04. The upgrade procedure seemed successful, but the restart after the upgrade was not successful as it was showing a black screen, and now I am getting the messages shown in the screenshot while booting.

error screenshot

How to rectify it, or else how to revert back to Ubuntu 16.04?

There is literally no error message in the picture.

  • As above, literally no error but it stopped there because probably it couldn't load the GUI session, the X server... Do you have Nvidia graphics? If so you'll need to reinstall the drivers.
