- Launch System Preferences
- Select Spotlight
- Select the Privacy tab
- Add the tab of the volume that should not be searched (NOT the one you've booted from)
- Wait a minute - ensure the change gets written to disk
- Reboot

- Add the tab of the volume that should not be searched (NOT the one you've booted from)
- Wait a minute - ensure the change gets written to disk
- Reboot
