How can I force to install and use pip18 (installed with --user) instead of pip8?

0

I'm working with my account on a supercomputer where pip 8.1.2 is installed under /usr/lib/python2.7/site-packages

I have access to build and install Python modules under $HOME from source code, however some of them require higher versions of pip.

So I tried with
python get-pip.py --user
and therewith successfully installed pip 18.1

However, whenever I call pip still the pip 8 version is executed.

Is there any solution for this?
