How can I ROUTE through Windows 10 Wifi-Direct "Mobile Hotspot'

0

Note, this is NOT about the deprecated "Hosted Network" Soft AP functionality.

I enjoy Windows 10 "Mobile Hotspot" (implemented with wifi direct).

I have a desired use case as a wireless router, where I would be able to, from a device connected to the mobile hotspot, route to all the other network interfaces that my computer is connected to. Unfortunately I haven't figured out how to do this yet, so for the moment, I'm just connecting to my computer via RDP over the hotspot

I've heard of Connectify, (i purchased it years ago) but it seems I should be able to do this without third party software.

IPconfig shows IP Routing Enabled: Yes. RRAS service is enabled. I have a route for each internal interface. netsh int ip sh int xx, forwarding = enabled on all adapters in question.

Unfortunately all traffic initiating from a device connected to the "Mobile Hotspot" is only routed out the internet-connected interface.

I've disconnected from the internet-connected interface after enabling "Mobile Hotspot" and then assigned a gateway to one of the internal interfaces, with no luck. I've manually enabled ICS on one of the local interfaces, (which hasn't worked) and am met with a dialog that ICS is being switched away from the original interface, so ICS must only able to route to one interface, but it still doesn't work

It seems it is associated strictly with the internet-connected interface ONLY.

Is this possible? Or do I need to download Connectify?
