How to change a specific user's inherited NTFS permissions based on a known subfolder name that exists in...
How do I change a known user's NTFS permissions from inherited read/execute to explicit Full Control based on a known subfolder name that exists in many places in one root folder structure?
Like so:
Folder Root
Folder A
Folder 1
Folder 2
Folder X
Folder B
Folder i
Folder ii
Folder X
Folder C
Folder Q
Folder W
Folder X
etc...
For all folders "Folder X" in "Folder Root", John Doe is listed as a user (among others) with permissions for that folder set to read/execute (inherited).
Now, I wish that those read/execute permissions for John Doe would change to explicit Full Control.
How can this be done?
I've tried icacls and powershell but been unsuccessful so far.
