Getting wrong hash values from files in HKLMSAM, Windows 10
Using information from this link: http://www.insecurity.be/blog/2018/01/21/retrieving-ntlm-hashes-and-what-changed-technical-writeup/#New_Style_Hash_Retrieval I try to do the same thing on VM with Windows 10. After getting access to the files of SAM folder i try to get the double encrypted NTLM hash and IV vector. According to article I need to go to 0xA8+CC offset in V file to get hash and 0xB4+CC to get IV. But I have very strange values: Offset 0x174: 00 00 18 00 FF 07 ... for hash Offset 0x180: (but I think the offset should be 0xB8 + CC to avoid intersection) 20 00 00 00 20 02 ... for IV. Very strange values. I decide to check NTLM hash value using pwdump7 program and get :
3B AA FA 04 1D 4E E7 ... normal value.
Please, help me to understand what I am doing wrong.
