Word adding extra blank lines to header and footer
I'm using 2016 Word and Windows 7, building horizontal tables--nothing too complex, mostly words inside the table cells. I have defined a header and footer. As I add text to the document, Word automatically adds blank spaces in my header and footer, making a very deep footer and header and reducing the "body" area. How can I keep Word from adding these extra lines to the header and footer?

I don’t understand what you’re saying. Are you talking about a page header and footer, or a table header and footer? Or are you using the page footer to create a table footer? Are you adding text in the table, before it or after it? Can you upload some screenshots? … … … … … … Please do not respond in comments; edit your question to make it clearer and more complete.
