Accessing Databases hosted on Cytrix from Client PC using JDBC through cytrix receiver

I'm scoping out a project that has two databases, and a fileshare which are remote and can only be accessed via Citrix by the client machine. We are looking to have a Java application on the client machine which accesses the two remote databases and file-share. Can this be done?
From my research it seems that Citrix Receiver can share remote services with the client, however I'm not finding any information that says that a JDBC connection could be created with these remote databases. From my reading it seems that the file-share bit should be possible, but if you know any different let me know.
One database is Oracle and the other is Sql-Server (using the jTDS driver).
Can this be achieved using Citrix Receiver or other Citrix product and is there any information on how I could achieve this?
I have never used Citrix and sadly I don't even have access to it as the Citrix system is hosted by a 3rd party. I'm doing a feasibility study on whether this can be achieved.
Much appreciate any assistance anyone can provide :)
