How to use a single task to compile everything in VS Code?
I'm trying to make my life easier by using a single task to compile and run all my files. I have this for c++:
"label": "g++run",
"type": "shell",
"dependsOn": ["g++run:compile"],
"command": "${fileDirname}\${fileBasenameNoExtension}.exe",
"presentation": {"echo": false, "clear": true, "reveal": "always", "focus": true, "panel": "dedicated"}
"label": "g++run:compile",
"type": "shell",
"command": "g++",
"args": ["-std=c++11", "-g", "${fileDirname}\${fileBasename}", "-o", "${fileDirname}\${fileBasenameNoExtension}"],
"presentation": {"echo": false, "clear": true, "reveal": "always", "focus": false, "panel": "dedicated"}
Is there any way to use some kind of conditional statement based on the extension (${fileExtname}) to make me decide which compile task I want to run?
Something like:
if (${fileExtname} == "cpp") "dependsOn": ["g++run:compile"]
else if (${fileExtname} == "...") "dependsOn": ["...:compile"]
else ...

I've some idea with makefile. Could you provide some details about your project? Does it have two modules like one executable another one shared library?

I don't want to configure it for one project. I want a solution similar to the Code Runner extension, but made with tasks. I want to try it this way to make it cleaner and customizable for each language.
