VLC Songs played in Playlists with “Start Paused” option often jam for a couple seconds when resumed

0

For an amateur musical company, I've been charged with the task of playing the songs and some effects during the play.

For the scope I've found that the VLC option "Tools->Preferences->All Preferences (bottom left)->Playlist->Start Paused option" works perfectly. At the end of each track, VLC goes to the next one and pauses itself, hence I just have to hit the spacebar with the right timing and that's it!

However several tracks often jam, what happens is:

  1. I hit play

  2. The track begins, a couple of seconds are reproduced, the audio jams (no audio is reproduced) while the timer slider goes ahead normally

  3. Audio gets back after 1 or 2 seconds

If I stop, rewind and replay the track 100% of the times this doesn't happen anymore, I've tested the tracks with Audacity and they all seem to be "intact" hence I'm prone to suspect some kind of buffering or loading issue with VLC.

What can I do to further investigate the issue and solve it?
